What country are you based in?

Israel

Do you feel your location has an effect on your domain investing?

No, it makes no difference where you are located in the world, as long as you have internet access and a bank account you are ready to play in the domain game.

How long have you been involved in domains?

Bought my 1st domain in 2001 for an online lead generation business that I started for myself, by 2002 I had 500+ domains for SEO reasons not for an investment reason, lead generation was huge success for me personally, I don’t think about investing in domains at all, I’m not a tech person so buying, selling, transferring domains was not an easy think like today.

Are you a full time domainer?

No, I own multiple lead generation businesses which are 99% automated, leaving me lots of time to hunt for domains on a daily basis, maybe one day I’ll sell all my online businesses and focus on Niche Domains full time.

How did you find out about domain investing?

Back in 2004 I sold my 1st online business for nearly 7 figures, I started my search for the next big thing and I started to search for an exact match keyword domain on Godaddy thinking it will cost me a few hundred dollars but the domain that I wanted had a BIN of $30K and that’s when I found out that you can buy and sell domains for a high premium. It took me 5 minutes to make a decision, I bought the domain for $30K and turned it into a $500K business in less than 6 months, and sold the whole thing 1 year after. since my 1st big domain purchase I’ve bought and sold hundreds of domains.

How many domains do you currently hold?

About 1200 domains.

What's your favourite non .com tld/nTLD/gTLD?

I like short, exact match keyword domains with the .xyz extension.

What's the best advice you've been given by another domain investor, either directly or through something they've said on twitter or in an interview?

I don’t want a portfolio of 10K domains, I want to stick to my current portfolio of about 1000 domains and simply improve the quality of my portfolio one domain at a time, If I could own 1000 quality .com’s and sell 3-6 domains a year I’d be happy.

What kind of goals do you set yourself?

Continued growth. It’s not something that is achieved month on month as it’s a very unpredictable industry but I like to achieve growth each quarter. I’ve only had one quarter where that didn’t happen but Q2 of 2022 could be the second.

Who are your top 3 domain investors?

I don’t have a specific list of domain investors, I learn a little from everyone, every domain investor brings to the game their own taste, strategy and budget. I learn a little from everyone.

What's the toughest part of domain investing?

Cashflow, almost everyday there is an amazing .com for sale in auction, we can’t buy them all, that’s the toughest part in domain investing.

How do you structure the domaining part of your day?

With my 1st cup of coffee, I check out the drop of the day, add to my watchlist my top 5-10 picks and repeat.

How do you manage your portfolio?

My whole portfolio is listed on NicheDomains.com, every quarter I renew all the upcoming renewals for 1 year at a time, that’s it.

Do you also have any NFTs or Crypto in your portfolio?

No, based on my experience, domains have a much better ROI, I can’t build a business on crypto or NFT so I like to own things that I can monetize by building a business on top of the product.

What's the most you've ever spent on one domain?

$140K for a 2 word, exact match .com which I flipped a few months after for $190K.

Have you ever done outbound? If so, were/are you successful?

No, I don’t sell outbound but I do sell to repeat customers, building a relationship with a domain buyer/investor can be a better ROI than spending time and resources on outbound.

You're given $10k to spend on domains, how do you spend it?

I would look for 4 quality .com’s at $2500.00 each, not 1 .com which can take years to sell, I like moving inventory around, I don’t like waiting years for a sale.

Outside of domains, what other business/wealth/personal growth figures do you look up to?

I’ve been self employed since I was 18 years old, no major education, mostly trial and error learning, I don’t have any personal figure that I look up to, I believe in doing what you love on your own, the best school or mentor in life is trial and error, the best lesson every business men/woman can learn from is how fast you get up after you fail, and believe me I’ve failed multiple times and I never give up and move on to the next project with my head up like nothing happened.

What do you do when you're not domaining?

Manage my online lead generation business, family, sports.

What advice would you give to people just starting out in domains?

JUST START!!!! Don’t be afraid to fail, you will fail on most of the domain purchases that you’ll make at the beginning, pick a niche, learn from it, keep building and plan a budget accordingly. Follow Leanne to save time and money with helpful tips on her twitter account 🙂
